An innovation bachelor’s degree programme – „Digital Railway Systems“ – was designed by the four universities joining forces in RailCampus OWL e.V. – Hoch-
schule Bielefeld, Technische Hochschule OWL, Universität Bielefeld and Universität
Paderborn. Their expertise leads into the programme, just as that of Deutsche Bahn and other business partners.

We train the next generation of academics for the future of railway transportation in the coming years.

Students at RailCampus OWL in Minden take full advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalisation and mechatronical development. The first students started in October 2022 and can expect a practical degree programme combining computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, offering promising career opportunities in the railway sector and beyond.

The degree programme is initially run at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. In a second step, the programme will be developed into a joint degree course offered by Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the universities of Bielefeld and Paderborn.
